Big Wheel Malgosia

On Wednesday 4th of February, form 2 and 3 went to the other Porta Mosana school to watch a Shakespeare show. At first I didn’t want to go because I thought it would be boring but everyone had to go. So after lunch at 13:30 all of pupils of form 2 and 3 put on their jacket and went to the other school.

We walk about 15 minutes till we got there. The school seemed to be slighty smaller than ours but still looked very nice. All of the students went inside and waited to get started. While waiting, man called Tom asked some of us questions about our hobbies. After he invited everyone to “the best entertainment show/room” in the world. He also told us that the theme of the show is Shakespeare. Then he let us into the room and in there there were many chairs and a woman who was playing Shakespeare.

The woman was very funny and good because she asked pupils their names and made a short poem with them that rhymes. Tom was like a presenter. He introduced to us Shakespeare. After we had only fun because Tom and Shakespeare were choosing some of us and we had to act or do whaterever they said. It was funny like that but also difficult because you had to think quilky about what to say.

The first thing that we did was a competition called “3 steps 2 heaven”. It was really funny. First Tom chose two people. He chose Mikolaj (boy) and Shari (girl). Then they had to choose another four people. They chose Andrzej (boy), Lewis (boy), Victorie (girl) and Marysia (girl). After that thoose people had to put these weird wigs on and sit in front of everybody and act like girls (not everyone). Mikolaj and Shari were “boys” who had to find their perfect girl. The girls that were sitting had to answer Shakespeare’s questions. This was step 1. Lewis won the round. In step 2 he had to throw flowers into a basket. Before, two “boys” guessed how many flowers Lewis would throw into the basket. Lewis thought 5 flowers and Mikolaj won (he said 5 flowers). In step 3 they had to kiss.

The next play was kind of a comedy. There was an angry father and he had a daughter and she had a boyfriend that the father didn’t like. The angry father had already chosen a husband for the daughter. That was the fiancé. But the fiancé had an ex-girlfriend who was very sad because the fiancé ran away on the wedding day. Then everyone went through a magical forest that made everyone happy. The daughter married her boyfriend and the fiancé married his ex-girlfriend.

One of the plays was a tragedy. It was about Hamlet who saw the ghost of his father. The ghost said that “he was killed by his brother”. Then Hamlet went to his girlfriend but he was so upset that he rejected her love. The upset girlfriend went mad and died. After that Hamlet went to his mother but he also rejected her love. Then Hamlet heard some whispers of Cladius and Polonius.  (a girlfriend’s father). Hamlet killed Polonius and went away. Then Leates  ( the girlfriend’s brother) came back from France and saw his dead sister and father. He swore revenge on Hamlet. Together with Cladius they made a plan how to kill Hamlet. They made poison and put it on to Leatres’s sword. When Hamlet came back, he and Leatres started to fight. Accidently their sword fell and they took the wrong one. Hamlet had the sword with poison and he killed Leatres. His mother is so unhappy that she drank the poison and died. Before Leatres died he said that Cladius did it. Then Hamlet killed Cladius and by accident he cut himself and also died.

We had many more plays and they were all funny. Before I was wrong about the show. It wasn’t boring. It was really funny and I liked it. I could watch it many times and it would never be boring.
